DOHA: The Education Committee of Qatar Chamber (QC) discussed yesterday mechanisms to support investment in the private education sector in Qatar, as well as a number of topics related to the private education sector.
During its meeting, the Committee discussed a number of issues including impacts of Circular No (6) of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education on the commitment to the educational sequence for adopting the certificate of secondary school as well as systems of upgrading students.
The attendees agreed on preparing a note to be addressed to concerned entities in the ministry to take necessary measures for protecting what was achieved by students this year.
The meeting was presided over by Dr Jabor Fadl Al Nuaimi on behalf of the Chairman of the Committee Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Towar Al Kuwari, First Vice-Chairman of QC.
The meeting also discussed venues of examinations, especially that the British system allows students to enroll in an accredited center for examinations, without being restricted to the school in which they study, provided that they should run teat in at least five subjects during the academic year.
The meeting also discussed a number of topics related to education, including school fees for the new and existing schools, relations between the teacher and students as well as the information requested from various departments of the private school, reaching to 46 files.
