DOHA: Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation “Kahramaa” has launched the best sustainable local product competition, which is the first of its kind in Qatar.
The competition aims at encouraging the industrial and commercial sector to produce more environment friendly sustainable products. It is one of the initiatives of Kahramaa’s National Programme for Conservation and Energy Efficiency (Tarsheed) and will last until April 1. According to a press release issued by Kahramaa, the competition meant to raise awareness about the concept of sustainability and its role in the progress of domestic production in Qatar.
The event will encourage industrial and commercial sector in particular to adopt strategies to protect the environment and achieve sustainability in their production processes, and adopt practices of Tarsheed and energy efficiency in the domestic market and promote competitiveness between the industrial and commercial sectors and private sector development in Qatar. Those wishing to participate can visit Kahramaa website by logging to Tarsheed page, and reviewing the terms of the competition and the technical criteria to evaluate and then fill the registration form.
The winners of the best sustainable local product are to be honored during the sixth annual Tarsheed ceremony on April 22, 2018.
