X Force shows slick pace as Saadi clinches Muraikh Cup

Doha: Irish entry X Force yesterday exhibited good finish as Soufiane Saadi clinched the top honours in Muraikh Cup in meeting 11 of the new horse racing season at Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC) racecourse. 

The three-year-old gelding, trained by Ibrahim Saeed Ibrahim Al Malki, yesterday clocked a time of 1:04.19 on the 1100m race held under lights at QREC. 

Saadi won the top prize of QR 57,000. 


X Force, winner of Muraikh Cup

Izzthatright, who had Jason Watson in the saddle, finished in second spot. Trained by Zuhair Mohsen Zuhair Maki, Izzthatright helped Watson get richer by QR 22,000.  Top Face, trained by Hamad Ahmed Al Malki Al-Jehani and ridden by Carlos Henrique finished in third spot worth QR 11,000. 

In the day’s seventh running, Dheban, ridden by Ali Khalid Al Mosallam, clinched the top place. Dheban clocked a time of 2:02.30 in the 1900m marathon as Al Mosallam won QR 34,200. 
Saadi, who eventually bagged the honours in the feature race of the day, finished in second place with Ernest Aldrich. Saadi won QR 13,200. Roman Legend, who had Marco Casamento, in the saddle, finished in the third place worth QR 6,600. 

Earlier in race seven that had only seven entries, Al Mosallam guided Leafy Moss to the top place in a time of 1:11.18 in the 1200m race. Trained by Mohammed Gassim Ghazali, Leafy Moss’ top finish was worth QR 34,200. 

Zarandi, trained by Hamad Ahmed Al Malki Al-Jehani and ridden by Carlos Henrique sealed the second place. Henrique won QR 13,200. Francois Herholdt, astride Cool Exhibit, was third (QR 6,600). 
Action at QREC continues today with race meeting 12.
