Doha: As part of its commitment towards Corporate Social Responsibility and in co-operation with the Yarmouk Preparatory School for Boys, the Qatar Stars League (QSL) will, for the second year in a row, participate in a football festival to be organised by the school, under the auspices of Ministry of Education and Higher Education, on November 21.
The festival will include many football-related events, with the participation of a number of sports, arts and media personalities, as well as a number of school students.
The festival coincides with the start date of FIFA World Cup in Qatar three years from now. Its main objective is to send a strong message that the World Cup is for Qatar, the Arab world and all countries. And also that Qatar is steadily on its way towards organising the Arab world’s first World Cup, which will leave a lasting legacy for the entire region.
On his part, QSL’s Executive Director of Marketing, Sales and Communication Hassan Rabiah Al Kuwari welcomed the initiative, which is not new to the Yarmouk School that is at the forefront of organising such important events. He stressed that the QSL was keen to participate in the festival and similar events, in line with its community role.
Yarmouk School’s Sports Education Co-ordinator Abdullah Mubarak said: “We’re pleased to organise this festival, which will see the participation of several sports and educational bodies, and we hope that it serves the purpose.”
