New Vision Badminton Sport (NVBS) coaching team welcoming Malaysian ex-junior International badminton player Roobenraj Velatudham (centre) at Hamad International Airport.
Doha: Doha-based New Vision Badminton Sport (NVBS) club, which aims to produce world-class shuttlers in Qatar, took a shot in the arm with the recruitment of Malaysian ex-junior International V Roobenraj as a coach.
The 22-year-old will join the NVBS on a one-year contract to train their junior shuttlers and use that opportunity to further improve his badminton skills as well and win an international title.
The Malaysian who arrived in Doha on Sunday was accorded a warm welcome by the NVBS family lead by its coaches, support staff and other officials at Hamad International Airport.
Roobenraj was delighted to be Doha. “I am so excited at the prospect of playing and coaching a club in Qatar. I have high ambitions to be a world champion one day. It will be a huge new experience for me to take my game to the next level. This is the stepping stone for me to explore new frontiers in my game,” Roobenraj said
The Malaysian Indian Badminton Association gave him a send off for Roobenraj ahead of his trip to Qatar and wished him all the best.
