DOHA: Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) benchmark index gained 331.48 points, or 3.36 percent, last week when the bourse closed yesterday at 10,193.01 points. Trading value during last week increased by 33.80 percent to reach QR995.85m compared to QR744.28m in the previous week.
Trading volume increased by 50.84 percent to reach 31.20 million shares, as against 20.69 million shares, while the number of transactions rose by 59.97 percent, to reach 20,244 transactions as compared to 12,655 transactions.
Market cap rose by 3.17 percent to reach QR569.12bn as compared to QR551.66bn at the end of previous week.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value last week with 35.52 percent of the total traded value. Industries sector accounted for 24.02 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 13.18 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted 13.10 percent.
Real Estate sector led traded volume last week with 33.65 percent of the total traded volume. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 25.08 percent. Industries sector accounted for 15.74 percent and Telecoms sector accounted 13.98 percent.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded number of transactions last week with 31.04 percent of the total number of transactions. Industries sector accounted for 21.10 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 19.35 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 10.05 percent. From the 45 listed companies 35 ended last week higher, while nine fell and one remained unchanged, reports QNA.
QNB led trading value last week accounted for 18.71 percent of the total traded value. Industries Qatar accounted for 10.33 percent and Qatar Fuel accounted for 8.55 percent.
When compared on daily basis, the QSE index gained 35.53 points, 0.35 percent, yesterday compared to Wednesday’s closing. The volume of shares traded decreased to 4.58 million from 7.90 million on Wednesday and the value of shares decreased to QR180.62m from QR309.03m on Wednesday.
