Islamabad: The Pakistani military announced Thursday that four militants were killed during a security operation in the country's northwest.
In a statement, the army said its forces carried out the operation based on intelligence reports after tracking the movement of armed militants in Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Pakistani forces have for years continued efforts to eliminate armed groups entrenched in mountainous regions that intermittently launch attacks against civilians and security personnel.
