Abu Dhabi: The second edition of the Sharjah African Literature Festival, organised by the Sharjah Book Authority under the theme "The African Way," concluded with the participation of 29 writers, as well as a gathering of literary figures, intellectuals, and those interested in the book and publishing industry.

During the closing day, panel discussions and poetry readings explored the intersections of culture between Africa and the Arab world.

The festival also provided a professional platform for publishers to discuss opportunities for translation and co-publishing.

This edition culminated in honoring Zimbabwean novelist Tsitsi Dangarembga with the Sharjah Literary Appreciation Award in recognition of her international contributions.

The festival presented a comprehensive cultural program that featured 20 panel discussions addressing the reality and future of African literature and its relationship with the Arab world, in addition to 5 poetry readings, 20 workshops for children, musical performances, a visual arts exhibition, and spaces dedicated to African fashion.

The Sharjah Festival of African Literature was launched in 2025, with the first edition organized under the slogan "The Tale of Africa".
