DOHA: The Qatar Football Association (QFA) has signed a Memorandum of Collaboration with the Mauritius Football Association (MFA) yesterday at the Al Bidda Tower, the home of football in the country.
The agreement will help the two countries to develop the sport and take bilateral relations to a new level.
The agreement was signed by Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, President of QFA, and Mohamed Ali Samir Sobha, President of MFA.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Azad Dhomun, of Mauritius, and Saud Abdulaziz Al Mohannadi, Vice President of QFA, Mansoor Al Ansari, Secretary General of QFA, and Mushtaq Al Waeli, Executive Director, Strategy & Institutional Development, were also present at the signing ceremony.
The signing of the agreement as an important step involving QFA which is key partner with all football federations across the globe.
The two federations aim to invest in the friendly relations, a joint communique said.
The agreement clearly underlines intentions of both countries to have exchange programs, training trips to boost youth football and play matches among teams at various age levels.
“I thank Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Thani, President of QFA, for his warm welcome. I am also very pleased to sign the cooperation agreement between the two federations. I look forward to a lasting cooperation between the two sides in the coming period,” the President of MFA said.
“Qatar has become a sports center in Asia and we are proud to be working with QFA – a body that is very professionally run,” he added.
“We would like to make the most of QFA’s vast experience in developing football. I am sure this will be a very fruitful partnership,” he said.
