Doha: The International Chess Federation (FIDE) and the Organizing Committee for the World Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships Qatar 2025 yesterday unveiled the official logo for the tournament scheduled to be held from December 26 to 30.

FIFA, in a statement, said, “The official logo for the World Rapid and Blitz Chess Championship Qatar 2025 represents a distinctive visual signature, combining the beauty of the Arabic calligraphy of the word “Qatar” with a sophisticated horse-like composition.

This harmony creates an authentic national identity that embodies a blend of Qatari heritage and the global standing of chess.

“The logo also highlights Qatar’s embrace of all players and chess enthusiasts from around the world and reflects Doha’s commitment to organizing a sporting event that combines authenticity and sporting excellence,” Qatar Chess Association (QCA) President Mohammed Al Mudahka said,

“We are delighted to welcome the return of the World Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships to Doha, where the competitions will be held at the Sports Complex at Qatar University.

“Thanks to the great support we receive in Qatar and our close cooperation with FIDE, we have been able to quickly complete the basic preparations and arrangements, including setting up the tournament venue, providing hotels, and completing all organizational details. This ensures the highest levels of comfort and an unforgettable experience for players and fans, both live and online.”

FIDE president Arkady Dvorkovich stated: “The World Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships are among the most prominent and widely watched events in the world, and they have played a pivotal role in popularizing the game and bringing it to a wider audience.”

He added: “We are working on the smallest details to ensure that the tournament is of a world-class standard befitting its status. We are very fortunate to have the great support of the Qatar Chess Federation, which is working tirelessly in cooperation with FIDI to organize an exceptional event in Doha from December 26 to 30, 2025, and we look forward to it with great excitement.”
