Doha: Qatar has welcomed the holding of the parliamentary elections in Lebanon, terming it an important step on the path to democracy and stability, and a true expression of the Lebanese people’s desire to complete the march of progress and prosperity.
In a statement yesterday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Qatar’s hope that this democratic practice would contribute to strengthening consensus between the Lebanese parties, and creating the climate for the completion of the constitutional entitlements.
The Ministry reiterated the position of Qatar in support of the unity, security and stability of Lebanon.
