QFSW marks ‘The Family Day’

Qatar Foundation for Social Work (QFSW) in collaboration with other centres working under its umbrella marked ‘The Family Day’ under the slogan “We will remain united even if we disagree".
The theme of the celebration this year is to highlight the importance of maintaining the harmony in relations and seeking to keep it strong whatever difference or disputes the members face.
Amal Al Mannai, CEO Qatar Foundation for Social Work and Acting Executive Director of Shafallah, said: “Family is the core element of the society to prepare individuals who can lead and develop our society in order to empower it. In Qatar, family has a special place and priority should be given to it for its essential role in maintaining principals, ethics and humanitarian values. These are important factors to keep the society and family united to achieve comprehensive development. QFSW supported these values and work for this cause.”
The aim of marking Family Day on April 15 is to highlight the importance of the family and building society. This has become a common practice in Qatar and has been included in the world declaration for human rights, international conventions, and economic, social and cultural rights. Shafallah Center provides services to all family members with special needs to enjoy and practice their full rights,” she added.
Rashid bin Ahmed Al Dosari, Director Family Consulting Center (Wifaq) praised the keenness of all social centres working under the umbrella of (QFSW) each in their area of responsibilities for the effective cooperation to achieve sustainable development of the society.
Al Dosari said: “I strongly believe these integrated roles of the social centres will help families to remain united and support families to tackle challenge facing by them. Wifaq centre has organised a number of activities on the occasion of Family Day including “Responsibilities of Parents” which held at Hilton Doha."
A number of specialists and activists in social and family affairs as well as officials from the Ministry of Planning Development and Statistics participated in the programme. The theme of the event was “Responsibilities of Parents” to highlight the importance of parents' responsibility in national development which is also essential for family stability. Wifaq centre has launched an awareness campaign through social media which will continue till April 20.
