Doha: Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) announced a marine warning starting from tomorrow afternoon (March 19) until Sunday evening (March 21). During this period, strong wind and high seas are expected.
The temperature during the weekend will vary between hot to moderate during daytime with the lowest and highest temperature expected to range between 23 degrees Celsius and 37 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Blowing dust at times and scattered clouds are also likely.
On Friday and Saturday, the wind will mainly blow northwesterly at 10-20 KT gusting to 28 KT at places at times. On Friday, the wind will blow at 8-18 KT reaching 23 KT to the north by afternoon offshore.
On both days, the visibility will vary between 4-8 km / 3 km or less at places at times.
QMD also stated that the wind, during this weather condition, will blow northwesterly at 12-22 KT reaching 28 KT at times at places.
The wave heights are also likely to vary between 3-7 ft rising to 8 ft at times.
During this warning period, QMD encouraged all citizens and residents to take extra precaution and avoid all marine activities.
