Doha: Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, President of the Qatar Football Association (QFA) and Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF)yesterday chaired a meeting of the Federation’s Executive Office through “video conference” with the participation of all members and the Secretary-General of the Federation.
The meeting discussed many issues that were on the agenda, as the minutes of the first meeting of the Executive Office for 2021 were approved.
The President of the Federation and members of the Executive Office also reviewed the report of the Committee to Study Gulf Hosting Files “25” presented by Dr Jassim bin Muhammad Al Shukaily, Vice President of the Federation And head of the committee to study the files on hosting the Gulf Cup.
The Executive Office of the AGCFF recommended holding a meeting of the heads of the Gulf federations within one month to take the final decision to name the country organizing the 25th Gulf Cup.
Jassim Al Rumaihi, Secretary-General of the AGCFF, said after the meeting of the Executive Office: “The meeting of the Executive Office of the federation was positive by the participants as it considered the interest and development of Gulf football, which is the goal pursued by the federation and all members.”
He added: “The decision to decide the country hosting the 25th Gulf Cup will take place within a month from now through a meeting that will be held for the heads of football federations in the Arab Gulf states who represent the General Assembly.”
The Secretary General of the AGCFF added: “Every member of this august body is keen to establish the championship that has a great position in the hearts of the people of the Gulf - where football is the number one sport - and to show it at the level that befits it.”
