DOHA: The General Directorate of Traffic, at its headquarters, received the Omani traveller, Bader Al Qataity , who is making a trip on a bicycle all over the country raising the Qatari and Omani flag.
The goal of this initiative is to spread messages of familiarity and peace between Qatar and Oman.
Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Radi Al Hajri, Director of Media and Traffic Awareness; Major Jaber Mohamed Rashid Odaiba, Assistant Director of Media & Traffic Awareness; First Lieutenant, Fahd Sherida, Traffic Awareness Officer, and a number of section heads received Qataity at the Department and praised his initiative.
Bader said that it was in coordination with the Qatar Cycling Federation he initiated the idea in order to spread the atmosphere of cohesion, unity, harmony and peace between the people of Qatar and Oman. He stressed on the strong relations between the leadership of Qatar and Oman, as well as the overwhelming love of the people of the Sultanate to their fellow Qataris.
He said that during his trip, which started from the Al Shamal city, he was welcomed by youth centres, security men and many families and Qatari youth who stopped him to inquire about his campaign and his carry for flags and images of leaders of Qatar and Oman in this cold weather.
He pointed out that it is not surprising to see such warmth and hospitality from the people of Qatar, adding his appreciation to great role played by the traffic policemen in maintaining safety on the roads that he has seen during his trip in the cities.
