Doha: As part of the Woqod’s ongoing expansion plans to be able to serve every area in Qatar, Qatar Fuel (Woqod) opened two new petrol stations on Wednesday taking their total number of outlets to 69. The new stations are at Lusail – Fox Hill and Hamad International Airport.

Woqod CEO, Saad Rashid Al Muhannadi, said: “We are pleased to open two new petrol stations in Lusail – Fox Hill and Woqod HIA. We aspire to expand its petrol station network in the country to meet the rising demand for petroleum products and achieve the goal of providing customers with access to best-in-class products and services at their convenience and comfort.

Woqod recently accelerated the construction of new petrol stations and will announce the opening of new ones during this month to meet the fuel and energy needs of the country.”

Lusail – Fox Hill station (pictured above) is spread over an area of 9400 square meters and has 4 lanes with 12 dispensers that will serve Lusail City and its neighbourhood.

Woqod HIA station is spread over an area of 11700 square meters and has 4 lanes with 8 dispensers that will serve those frequenting Doha City and its neighbourhood.

In addition, the number of dispensers was increased in order to enhance the quality of the service and reduce the vehicle congestion at the petrol stations.

Al Muhannadi indicated that the two new petrol stations offer round-the-clock services to residents, include Sidra convenience store, auto and manual car wash, oil change and tire repair, sale of LPG cylinders, in addition to sale of petrol and diesel products for light vehicles.

He further added that Woqod is currently constructing 28 petrol stations and a number of these projects are expected to be operational this year. Woqod currently has 7 new stations in the tendering phase and 10 stations in the design phase. October will see the opening of at least two new fixed petrol stations in Al Kharaitiyat and Al Thumama 2.

Al Muhannadi also pointed out that Woqod will open two mobile diesel stations near Wadi Albanat and Rowdat Al Hamama on tomorrow (Oct 18). The company is currently dismantling diesel dispensers from Wadi Albanat and Rowdat Al Hamama petrol stations and will replace them with petrol dispensers.

“As part of its strategic expansion plan, WOQOD is targeting a total of 120 fuel stations by the end of 2020,” Al Muhannadi added.
