El Jadida, Morocco: The events of the Salon du Cheval d’El Jadida continue in Morocco.
The week-long Salon is being held under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco, under the theme ‘Equestrian Sports in Morocco’ and will continue until October 21. Qatar Racing & Equestrian Club (QREC) is the platinum sponsor of this 11th edition.
As the events of Day 2 started, Issa bin Mohammed Al Mohannadi, QREC Chairman, said: “We came to Morocco to share the efforts of our Moroccan counterparts in making this edition a success, especially as QREC is the platinum sponsor of this edition, which is held under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco. Our participation has been supported by the Ministry of Sports & Culture through His Excellency the Minister, Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali.”
“The Ministry has provided the requirements for a successful participation by QREC and a bright image reflecting the objective of this participation, which came also in response to the invitation received from the organisers of the Salon.
“QREC has been participating in the Salon since the very first edition and that was 11 years ago. In other words, we have always been present at the Salon and there are several goals, which we look forward this year,” he added.
“This participation reflects the strong strategic relations between Qatar and Morocco as well as Qatar’s commitment to the equestrian-related heritage, especially as Qatar is a major leader in this field. Our participation is also part of the QREC’s association with overseas events in line with the QREC’s strategy and vision for such type of events.”
“I reiterate that QREC is keen to be present at the Salon du Cheval through this platinum sponsorship and to utilise this edition of the Salon to further foster the relations with our counterparts and friends in Morocco. We also work towards increasing cooperation, assess the benefits of this participation and avoid any negatives. Again, I do thank the Ministry of Sports & Culture for supporting QREC in this participation and so adding to its benefits,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, the organising committee of the Salon du Cheval also held a press conference, yesterday to highlight this year’s renewal of the Salon, which is held under the them ‘Equestrian Sports in Morocco’. Also present at the press conference were Dr El Habib Marzak, Salon du Cheval Commissioner, Dr Hamid Benazzou, the Secretary General of the Salon du Cheval, and Hassan Al Mannai, QREC Head of Show Section.
“Qatar is keen to be present with Morocco in the Salon every year,” said Dr Marzak before adding: “Qatar supports us materially and morally every year and this valuable support is of course important for us. We thank Qatar for this platinum sponsorship and presence. The Qatari delegation, through the senior officials of QREC, were with us during the opening ceremony.”
