Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has highlighted the usefulness of its electronic portal 'Maaref' in providing a ‘Grade Improvement Service’ for students who have successfully passed their general secondary school certificate for the academic year 2024-2025.
Students or their parents can access this e-service through the ministry’s web portal ‘Al-Maaref’ via this link, or via this link, as the application for the service will remain open till July 31, 2025.
This service provides an opportunity for students to re-take second-round exams in specific subjects with the goal of improving their overall average grade.
According to the ministry, applying for this service will not invalidate a student’s original passing certificate from the first round of exams.
Students eligible for this service must have successfully passed the 12th grade.
Students are permitted to choose a number of subjects in which they wish to improve their grades.
The exams for these subjects will cover the full curriculum for both academic semesters (100% of the content).
To receive the ‘Grade Improvement Certificate,’ students must commit to attending all second-round exams for the subjects they selected.
The ministry stated that in case of a student absentee, the certificate will not be issued.
The final grades for the second-round exams will henceforth be used to create the new certificate only in the subjects the student selected for retake.
For the rest of subjects, the first grades will be retained.
Successful students will receive the new certificate titled ‘General Secondary School Certificate – Second Round / Grade Improvement.’
