QSE’s benchmark index closes at 9,871.87 points

Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) benchmark index lost 155.30 points, or 1.55 percent, last week when the bourse closed yesterday at 9,871.87 points.

Trading value during last week increased by 70.87 percent to reach QR1.92bn compared to QR1.12bn at the end of the previous week.

Trading volume increased by 100.83 percent to reach 88.57 million shares, as against 44.10 million shares, while the number of transactions rose by 86.16 percent, to reach 44,906 transactions as compared to 24,122 transactions.

Market cap fell by 1.62 percent to reach QR549.65bn as compared to QR558.73bn at the end of previous week, reports QNA.

Industries sector led traded value last week with 32.58 percent of the total traded value. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 29.58 percent. Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 16.89 percent and Real Estate sector accounted 12.51 percent.

Industries sector led traded volume last week with 36.95 percent of the total traded volume. Real Estate sector accounted for 25.09 percent. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 21.04 percent and Telecoms sector accounted for 7.27 percent.

Industries sector led traded number of transactions last week with 33.1 percent of the total number of transactions. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 24.09 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 23.14 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 7.80 percent.

From the 46 listed companies, seven ended last week higher while 35 fell and four unchanged.

Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding Company led trading value during last week accounted for 15.83 percent of the total traded value. QNB accounted for 14.68 percent and Qatar Fuel accounted for 14.53 percent.
When compared on daily basis, the QSE index gained 7.61 points, or 0.08 percent, compared to Wednesday’s closing.

The volume of shares traded decreased to 16. 41 million from 24.74 million on Wednesday and the value of shares decreased to QR388.47m from QR706.49m on Wednesday.

From the 49 companies listed on QSE, shares of 45 saw trading today. From these, 23 companies gained, 19 closed lower and remained three companies unchanged.

Indices of four sectors ended in green zone and three ended in red zone today. QSE Total Return Index increased 0.08 percent to 18,165.08 points and QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index gained 0.03 percent to 3,886.64 points. QSE All Share Index increased 0.15 percent to 2,966.94 points.
