Two new public parks will be opened soon in Al Mamoura and Dafna, giving residents of these areas an opportunity to enjoy quality time in greenery with family members.
“The works are going on in two parks at Al Mamoura and Area 66 in Dafna. Within one month the two parks will be ready for families,” a senior official at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment told The Peninsula.
The two parks will be equipped with all required facilities that include sunshades and play area for children. They will also be equipped with entertainment and sports facilities, in addition to fountains which will add to the beauty to of the parks, he added.
“It is part of our plan and strategy to increase the number of public parks and renovate the existing ones so that people can find more of green area to visit and enjoy,” he said.
Replying question about people’ complains of shortage of sunshades in public parks and if the Public Parks Department is going to increase the number of sunshades, the official said:
“All the public parks have enough sunshades, but people must know that there are some parks which are specially designed for walking and hence they do not require sunshades like Al Rayan park.”.
Free Wi-Fi will not be available in the two parks. It is available in many public parks such as Dahl Al Hammam park, Al Dafna park, Al Wakra public park, among others.
The Ministry of Municipality and Environment has recently opened two public parks — Al Kaaban Park in Al Khor & Al Dakhira Municipality and Mohamed bin Jassim Park in Umm Salal Mohammed.
