Doha: Qatar Airways (QA) has announced the patronage of the Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to this year’s 70th International Air Transport Association (IATA) Annual General Meeting (AGM) and World Air Transport Summit at Ritz- Carlton Doha from June 1 to 3.
The AGM, a major aviation annual event, is being hosted by the airline.
“We are honoured by the Emir’s patronage, which highlights the significance of hosting such an important event,” said Akbar Al Baker, CEO, QA.
“We await with great anticipation the opportunity to host such an important global aviation event in our home country. The IATA AGM represents the perfect opportunity for us to showcase Qatar and its importance as a global aviation hub,” Al Baker added.
More than 230 airlines from across the world are members of IATA and the AGM is expected to receive more than 1,000 senior aviation industry delegates and 200 international media.
