Doha: Hamad Al Jaaidi emerged triumphant in the elite race category at the National Road Race Championship, which took place on Saturday.
Al Jaaidi’s Team Doha Cycling’s teammates Abdulrahman Ghanim and Abdullah Al Jaaidi finished second and third respectively.
Team Doha Cycling made it a clean sweep of the championship titles by also winning in Open Men. Abdollah Massoomi from Iran beating Mouchine Rhaili and Aziz Hadaj in the only real sprint finish of the day.
In the women’s race, Isobel Bushell of Team Doha Cycling finished first, ahead of Italian Daniela Sposi of Rasen Adventure Shop. In the women’s race for Qataris, Sheikha Al Suwaidi took top spot, ahead of Dana Almulla Noor Ali of Qatar University was third.
