Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) President H E Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani honoured the Qatar handball team, which emerged as Asian champions once again recently, during a felicitation ceremony held at the QOC Headquarters yesterday.
The ceremony was also attended by QOC's Second Vice-President Dr. Thani bin Abdulrahman Al Kuwari, Secretary-General Jassim bin Rashid Al Buainain, President of the Qatar Handball Association (QHA) Ahmed Al Shaabi, members of QHA's Board of Directors and directors of departments of the Olympic Committee.
Qatar claimed their fifth consecutive Asian Men’s Handball Championship title in Dammam, Saudi Arabia in January. With the title win, Qatar, who also won 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2020 editions, equalled South Korea’s record of five straight titles in the continental event.
