Doha: As the 2021 renewal of the Amir Sword Festival is fast approaching, the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC) has announced that the Social and Sports Activities Support Fund (Daam) is the main supporter of the Festival, which will be held between February 18-20 at the QREC Al Rayyan Park. International runners will be lining up in the Festival races, reflecting the stature of horseracing in Qatar.
This support is part of the ongoing partnership between QREC and Daam. This support covers several of QREC’s activities and is aimed to realise the aim behind the partnership extended over the years and achieve success for both parties.

QREC Chairman Issa Bin Mohammed Al Mohannadi lauded Daam’s support.
“First of all, we would like to thank Daam for their keenness to be with us in the major events at QREC”, he said
“Daam are the main supporter of our most valuable event the Amir Sword Festival, this year. The partnership between QREC and Daam has been moving from strength to strength for five years now. As a supporter of youth and sports activities, Daam have supported the QREC Riding School from the very beginning with the aim of supporting Qatari jockeys. The outcome has been very fruitful both in terms of the training camps organised form the young local talents and the number of Qatari jockeys riding regularly in the races run at QREC,” Al Mohannadi said.
“We have maximised our efforts to produce a remarkable renewal of the Amir Sword Festival and present a bright image of Qatar’s equestrian sport in line with its high stature, especially in this prestigious occasion, which we all look forward to every year. We expect top quality racing contests as all horse owners, trainers and jockeys have completed their preparations and look forward to the most valuable prizes and titles of the season”, he added.
Al Mannai: We look forward to continued cooperation
On this occasion, Daam CEO, Abdulrahman bin Abdulatif Al Mannai said: "For the fifth straight year, the Social and Sports Activities Support Fund is a main supporter of the Amir Sword Festival as well as the activities and events of QREC".
“This support is part of Daam’s belief in the stature of this remarkable sports and cultural event. The Festival is of paramount importance for the community in Qatar given its effective role in promoting the long-established cultural heritage of Qatar both regionally and internationally,” Al Mannai said.
“The equestrian sport has always been a source of pride in our society being the sport of our forefathers and predecessors. Daam’s support for the Festival over successive years is but a demonstration of the value and standing of this prestigious event and its role in preserving the customs and traditions handed down from one generation to another.
