Doha: The Ministry of Municipality is representing the State of Qatar at the Esri 2025 International GIS Conference, currently taking place in San Diego, USA, from July 14 to 18.

The event, hosted annually by the Environmental Systems Research Institute (Esri), is the world’s largest gathering of geographic information systems (GIS) professionals and specialists.

On the opening day of the accompanying exhibition, Qatar’s pavilion attracted around 1,500 visitors, offering an interactive showcase of the country’s most advanced GIS-based technologies and applications.

Key highlights included digital twin projects, AI integration, aerial surveys, 3D modeling, and application development.

The impressive display was made possible through the collaborative efforts of several Qatari entities, including the GIS Center, Urban Planning Department, and Survey Department of the Ministry of Municipality, alongside the Public Works Authority (Ashghal), Communications Regulatory Authority, and Qatar Rail.

These organizations jointly presented innovative solutions and smart urban planning tools aligned with Qatar’s vision for digital transformation and sustainable development.

Adding to the prestige of Qatar’s presence, the pavilion welcomed a visit from Jack Dangermond, President and CEO of Esri, along with other high-level officials, GIS experts, and international participants keen to learn from Qatar’s technological advancements.

The Esri User Conference remains a pivotal platform for global GIS leaders to share knowledge, explore cutting-edge spatial data technologies, and promote smarter, data-driven decision-making across sectors.
