DOHA: The Ministry of Economy and Commerce in cooperation with the World Trade Organization (WTO), is organising a workshop on the dispute settlement mechanism, as part of the Ministry’s efforts aimed at building the capacity of Jurists, economists and workers in the field of international cooperation and international agreements in state, and developing their skills for international trade, trade negotiations and the dispute settlement mechanism within the WTO.
The aim of the workshop is to prepare and qualify these jurists and economists technically to understand all aspects of the WTO dispute settlement mechanism, so that participants can then contribute to the provision of specialized services in this field to all stakeholders from the public and private sectors, QNA reported.
The workshop, which will be held at MEC in Lusail City, from today to July 19, it will address a number of topics related to the WTO dispute settlement mechanism, such as the definition of dispute settlement mechanism, the key concepts and stakeholders involved in the implementation of the mechanism, the core procedures of WTO for the settlement of disputes, participants will also be trained through a simulated dispute settlement process within the WTO Dispute Settlement Authority.
