Doha: Over 2,000 Lyrica pills were seized by authorities in a failed smuggling attempt into Qatar. The banned substances were seized by the Postal Consignments Customs Department at Air Cargo Customs and Private Airports administration.
In a statement, Customs said that a total of 2,352 pills were found stashed in hollow wood.
A seizure report was issued and the contrabands have been delivered to authorities.
Last week, a smuggling attempt was also foiled at Hamad International Airport (HIA), where 1553.8 g of cocaine were found inside two shoes.
Customs officers are provided with all means of support including the latest devices and continuous training to read the body language of passengers and to be aware of the latest methods followed by smugglers.
