Doha: The Shura Council's Special Committee for studying "Aspects Associated with Marriage" held a meeting on Sunday, headed by HE Chairman of the Committee Ali bin Shabib Al Attiyah, in the presence of HE Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti.
During the meeting, the committee reviewed a number of negative aspects and behaviors associated with marriage, which constitute a burden on the family and impede young people from marrying.
HE Chairman of the Committee, Ali bin Shabib Al Attiyah, stressed the importance of curbing these behaviors and the need to find mechanisms to address this issue and limit its effects on families and society.
The committee will continue to study this issue by holding its meetings and working in coordination with a number of government agencies and civil society institutions with competence.
