The recently concluded traffic awareness campaign of McDonald’s Qatar, with the theme “Have Fun and Learn Tips on Safety and Security”, featured various programmes for kids and their families, and highlighted the importance of safe driving. The campaign, which began in the last week of May and concluded early this month, took place at McDonald’s branches in Old Airport, Dukhan and Al Sadd. It put a great emphasis on appropriate road manners. With the participation of Al Fazaa, the Traffic Department, Coast Guard, Civil Defence and the Ministry of Interior’s Public Relations Department, the campaign was a great success.
The campaign’s message reached hundreds of children and their families. Posters and brochures were distributed to the customers, who got an opportunity to get a first-hand look at vehicles operated by the Traffic Police and Al Fazaa. The MOI mascots, Shurtie Sadiqim, Aman and Salama, and McDonald’s characters Birdie, Grimace and Hamburglar amused the audience, and the kids got the chance to get photographed with them. Ronald McDonald had a show that further engaged the kids, who also had face-painting and fun activities. The MOI departments provided safety tips and handed out gifts and awareness brochures.
Kamal Saleh Al Mana, Managing Director of Al Mana Restaurants and Food Co, the owner and operator of McDonald’s restaurants in Qatar, said: “We are proud to support this campaign that aims at educating the youth and their families about the importance of road safety. We really appreciate the effort of Al Fazaa, Traffic Department, Coast Guard, Civil Defence and MOI Public Relations Department in cooperation of the Ministry of Interior to promote this important activity amongst the public. We’ve wrapped up a very successful campaign.”
