Doha: Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture and Science (QNCECS) , in cooperation with the Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Office of the Permanent Delegation of the State of Qatar to Unesco, will organise tomorrow a symposium on the “Culture Sector of UNESCO: Competent Committees and International Conventions”, with the participation of different entities in the country.
The symposium will highlight the role of Unesco in international cultural policies and their connection to development, raising awareness of stakeholders from government institutions concerned with the concepts and regulations in force in the organisation.
The seminar will be addressed by Director of the Diplomatic Institute H E Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al Horr, and Acting Secretary-General of the Qatar National Commission Ali bin Abdulrazzaq Marafie. The symposium will also include a discussion session on the Unesco Culture Sector, during which Permanent Representative of Qatar to Unesco H E Dr. Nasser bin Hamad Al Hanzab will talk about the relationship between Qatar and Unesco in various sectors, 50 years after its accession to the organisation.
