DOHA: Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC), the country’s governing sports body, will host a ceremony to honour the best athletes’, sports officials’, institutions’, government and non-government organisations’ at the Sport Excellence Day 2013, which will be held on May 21.
The prestigious annual event, which will be held at Katara, building No. (12) in the Cultural Village, is being organised by QOC to honour those who have succeeded and made a tangible contribution in boosting sports during the 2012-2013 season.
Senior QOC officials, heads of sports clubs, federations and honorees will attend the event to celebrate the role played by what sport has achieved and the prosperity sport has had on the Qatari community.
A range of awards will given such as the Appreciation Award for the personalities who have delivered significant services to Qatar Sport’s Movement, Sport’s Best Sponsor Award (government bodies), Sport’s Best Sponsor Award (companies), Golden Club Award (General Excellence Shield), Ideal Club Award and the Appreciation Award for the best national company involved in sport’s projects in the country.
Also, other appreciation awards will be distributed by Sport Press Committee (SPC) according to specific standards,.
These include the Best Team Awards for men’s and women’s, Best Team Award (clubs), as well as the Best Athlete Award for men and women.
There will also be an award for boy’s and girl’s for the best junior athletes. THE PENINSULA
