DOHA: H E Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, Minister of Economy and Commerce met Governor of South Carolina Henry McMaster yesterday, as part of a working lunch that was held on the sidelines of the State of Qatar’s economic roadshow in the United States, currently underway in the city of Charleston in South Carolina.
A number of Qatari officials and businessmen attended the meeting, while the US side was represented by South Carolina’s Secretary of Commerce, Robert Hitt; Vice President and General Manager of Boeing-South Carolina, Joan Robinson-Berry; Attorney General of South Carolina, Alan Wilson; and Executive Director at the University of South Carolina’s Office of Economic Engagement, Bill Kirkland.
The meeting reviewed prospects of mutual cooperation on all fronts and means of developing them. The two sides also discussed the existing cooperation between the State of Qatar and the United States, particularly South Carolina, in the economic, investment and trade areas.
They also touched on means of taking additional steps to enhance and develop economic cooperation between the private sector in both sides so as to serve the mutual interests of the two friendly countries.
