QSE’s main index gained 189.37 points last week

Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) benchmark index gained 189.37 points, or 1.94 percent, last week when the bourse closed yesterday at 9,970.55 points.

Trading value during last week increased by 158.23 percent to reach QR2.48bn compared to QR961.79m.

Trading volume increased by 128.80 percent to reach 75,630,905 shares, as against 33,056,000 shares, while the number of transactions rose by 33.01 percent, to reach 31,056 transactions as compared to 23,348 transactions.

Market cap rose by 0.90 percent to reach QR561.06bn as compared to QR556.06bn at the end of previous week.

Industries sector led traded value last week with 29.07 percent of the total traded value. Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 23.77 percent. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 19.31 percent and Real Estate sector accounted 10.61 percent, reports QNA.

Industries sector led traded volume last week with 43.9 percent of the total traded volume. Real Estate sector accounted for 19.19 percent. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 13.98 percent and Insurance sector accounted for 9.63 percent.

From the 46 listed companies 24 companies ended last week higher, while 21 fell and one remained unchanged.

Qatar Fuel led trading value during last week accounted for 21.79 percent of the total trading value. Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding Company accounted for 17.91 percent and Qatar Insurance accounted for 9.92 percent.

When compared on daily basis, the QSE index gained 208.86 points, or 2.14 percent, yesterday compared to Wednesday’s closing. The volume of shares traded increased to 39.36 million from 8.15 million on Wednesday and the value of shares increased to QR1.43bn from QR275.97m on Wednesday.

Of the 49 companies listed on QSE, shares of 45 saw trading yesterday. From these, 24 companies gained, 19 closed lower and two remained unchanged.

Indices of five sectors ended in green zone and two sectors ended in red zone today. QSE Total Return Index increased 2.14 percent to 18,107.18 points and QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index up 1.98 percent to 3,937.10 points. QSE All Share Index gained 1.42 percent to 3,015.97 points.
