Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs H E Ghanem bin Shaheen bin Ghanem Al Ghanem taking part in an activity organised by the Ministry at its playground in Abu Hamour.
Doha: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs yesterday organised various sports activities within the framework of the activities of the National Sport Day 2023, at the Ministry’s playground in Abu Hamour.
Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs H E Ghanem bin Shaheen bin Ghanem Al Ghanem with a number of officials and directors of departments participated in some of these sports activities, in addition to the participation of hundreds of employees, imams in various sporting events.
The activities included sports competitions in football, volleyball and junior football, in which a large number of employees, imams and their children participated.
Other activities included jogging exercises, physical fitness and cycling, as well as practising ancestral sports such as horse riding, which the Ministry was keen to be part of the activities of this day, in addition to providing a special corner for children’s sports, which included bouncy games and slides.
In its sporting events, the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs was keen to meet all safety and security requirements for all participants who flocked since early morning to the event site in Abu Hamour.
The Ministry aims, by holding these various sports activities and events during the country’s Sport Day, to contribute to building a physically and spiritually balanced society, to educate generations to love competition for good and noble values, and to promote awareness of the importance of sports.
The Ministry’s participation in the activities of Sport Day every year comes in line with its conscious and responsible engagement with the Qatar National Vision 2030 and its positive participation in embodying the objectives of the national strategy to make Qatar the capital of sports and peace and respect for the inherent values and good customs of society.
