Doha: Qatar’s Saeed Al Sulaiti will start today’s Open 600-R6 class of the sixth round of the Inter-regional Speed Championship (CIV) in the front line of the grid after recording the second-fastest time in yesterday’s qualifying session at the Jerez-Ángel Nieto Circuit in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain.
Al Sulaiti who came third in the previous round of the Championship which is part of the 36th Andalucian Speed Championship, yesterday clocked the fastest lap time in the first practice run.
However, Spanish rider Angel Heredia Martinez booked the first spot in the grid after clocking a lap time of 1 minute 45.301 secs, half a second ahead of Al Sulaiti in the final qualifying round.
Al Sulaiti’s compatriot Yousef Al Darwish also showed exceptional riding skills as he finished eighth fastest on both occasions to book the ninth spot in the grid for today’s race.
