Doha: The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, represented by the Marine Protection Department, in cooperation with the Coasts and Borders Security Department at the Ministry of Interior, has carried out a joint field inspection targeting the entry and exit points of vessels at fishing ports in Al Khor, Al Ruwais, and Al Wakrah.
The campaign led to the detection of several environmental violations, including the seizure of a number of launches found carrying multi-headed dragnets (manshal), a fishing tool strictly prohibited for use, transport, or possession under the country’s environmental laws.
