Doha: Gerry Price and Mike Taylor booked a place in the final round of the 2014 Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup, one of the sport’s largest and most exciting amateur tournaments, took place at Doha Golf Club recently.
The third of 50 qualifiers for the global event, which enjoyed great acclaim in its inaugural edition last year, featured 72 players, all personally-invited guests of Turkish Airlines.
Price and Taylor are the latest winners to join the Grand Final in Antalya, Turkey, this November.
“We would like to congratulate everyone who took part in the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup qualifier in Doha,” said Mehmed Kursad Caymaz, General Manager for Turkish Airlines Doha.
“It was a brilliant day and well done to our winners, Gerry and Mike - we look forward to seeing you in Antalya in November.”
It was also a memorable day for Ian McInerney and Wendy Greenhalgh, who each won two business class flights and a seven-night stay at the five-star Maxx Royal Hotel in Antalya after their scorecards were chosen in the free prize draw, with every player who took part in the qualifier having been entered.
The first qualifier got under way in India in March, with dates scheduled to take place in countries all over the world, including Hong Kong, South Africa, Great Britain, South Korea, Japan, China, Spain, the United States, Portugal, Italy, France, Greece, Argentina, Sweden, Jakarta, Brazil and Turkey.
