Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs has announced an extensive package of religious, charitable and community programs for Ramadan 1447 AH under the slogan “Obedience and Forgiveness.” The announcement was made during a press conference at the Imam Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab Mosque recently.

Officials outlined wide-ranging initiatives covering Qur’anic activities, mosque services, zakat collection, endowment projects and community outreach. The ministry will expand its “Iftar for Fasters” project to serve up to 360,000 people across various locations nationwide, alongside distributing food baskets to underprivileged families.

Mosques across the country have been fully prepared for Taraweeh and Qiyam prayers, with 12 distinguished Qatari imams assigned to lead prayers at the Imam Mosque and 113 cooperating imams deployed to support other mosques. Arrangements have also been completed to accommodate worshippers observing I’tikaf during the last ten days of Ramadan.

The Zakat Affairs Department launched the “Your Zakat is a Trust” campaign, supported by 28 collection points and enhanced digital services, including an online Zakat Calculator and smart payment options to facilitate donations.

Ramadan programs will also feature 100 religious lectures, Qur’an recitation circles in 50 mosques, hospital visits by preachers, daily competitions, and expanded outreach for non-Arabic speakers.

Additionally, 12 new mosques have been completed, with emergency maintenance teams operating 24/7 throughout the holy month to ensure smooth services for worshippers nationwide.
