QSE’s main index closes at 9,846.93 points

DOHA:  Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) benchmark index lost 357.69 points, or 3.51 percent, last week when the bourse closed yesterday at 9,846.93 points.

Trading value during last week decreased by 21.18 percent to reach QR891.68m compared to QR1.13bn at the end of previous week.

Trading volume decreased by 15.60 percent to reach 315.37 million shares, as against 373.65 million shares, while the number of transactions fell by 25.02 percent, to reach 22,087 transactions as compared to 29,458 transactions.

Market cap fell by 3.67 percent to reach QR547.46bn as compared to QR568.34bn at the end of previous week, reports QNA.

Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value last week with 57.71 percent of the total trading value. Real Estate sector accounted for 13.97 percent. Industries sector accounted for 10.64 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted 6.18 percent.

Real Estate sector led traded volume last week with 33.62 percent of the total traded volume. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 30.00 percent. Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 12.71 percent and Industries sector accounted 12.64 percent.

From the 47 listed companies 9 ended last week higher, while 36 fell and two remained unchanged.

When compared on daily basis, the QSE index dropped 106.44 points, or 1.07 percent, yesterday compared to Wednesday’s closing.
