Doha: Qatar Central Securities Depository (QCSD) registered Treasury authorizations issued by Qatar Central Bank for the fourth quarter of 2018 in its systems, where the Treasury’s permissions were recorded on the date of issuance on the fourth of last December, where the permissions varied between the Treasury authorization for three months for a value of QR 350 million in the number versions of 35,000 issues with a maturity date of March 5, 2019.
A Treasury permit was also registered for 6 months for a value of QR 200 million with a number of 20,000 issues and a maturity date of June 4, 2019, as well as the registration of a Treasury permit for 9 months worth QR 100 million in the number of versions of 10,000 issues and maturity date on September 3, 2019.
This was reflected in the monthly report issued by QCSD, where the company reviewed in its December 2018 report the most significant of its actions, mostly in the preservation, limitation, management, acquisition, clearing and settlement of securities, derivatives and other financial instruments, the provision of related financial services, in addition to the transfer of the ownership of contracts executed through trading and transfers such as family transfers, inheritance, exclusions, bookings and unbooking, mortgage and foreclosure operations at the request of the relevant authorities, as well as a number of shareholder statements have been updated and new shareholders were added.
In December 2018, QCSD registered Qatar Aluminium Manufacturing Company (QAMCO) on its systems, where the shares became available for withdrawal by the financial services companies, in addition to providing QAMCO shareholders data to all financial services companies operating in the market/the ones responsible of the purchase and sale of securities for the benefit of others, in order to facilitate the process of opening accounts and transfer of shares, during the same month the company started the family remittances operations of QAMCO.
In its monthly report, QCSD provided figures and statistics illustrating the main activities carried out in December 2018, where the transfer of the third market took 540 family transfers in December, compared to 226 in November, with a change of 138.94 percent, 809 legacy conversions were also carried out in December compared 453 in November with a change of 78.59 percent, and one exception was made for 13 operations the previous month, down by 92.31 percent.
The number of shareholders identified on the company’s system in December amounted to 990,484 shareholders in December, compared to 956,682 shareholders in November with a change rate of 3.53 percent, while the number of shareholders who have a bank account in the month of December amounted to 51,146 shareholders compared to 722,50 thousand registered shareholder in November which represent a change rate of 0.84 percent.
During the month of December 2018, 17,758 mortgage operations were compared to 53 operations in November, with a change rate of 33,405.66 percent.
1,127 mortgage release were issues in December, compared to 283 in November, with a change of 298.23 percent, and in December, 2018 a total of 340,509 transactions were opened for new shareholders as compared to 731 registrations in November with a change rate of 4620.8 percent, and the issuance of statements during December with 31,558, compared to 18,253 in November, with a change rate of 72.89 percent, and during December 2018, 426 certificates were issued to those were for 448 certificates last November, a decrease by 4.91 percent.
In regard to the number of shareholders identified on the system according to nationality (Qatari and non-Qatari) and the type of contributor (individuals and institutions,) the number of Qatari shareholders during the month of last December reached 314,172 thousand contributing personnel compared to 280,313 in November with a change of 12.07 percent.
The number of shareholders from Qatari institutions in December was 3,000, 813, compared to 300,811 institutions in November, with a change of 0.05 percent.
Meanwhile, the number of non-Qatari shareholders in December reached 668,403, compared to 668,480 in November of the same year, which represent a decrease of 0.01 percent, while the number of non-Qatari shareholders reached 4,096 in December 2018, compared to 4,068 foundation in November with a change of 0.44 percent.
