Hassad signs strategic agreement with ‘Anaam’

Hassad, Qatar’s premier investor in the food sector, signed a strategic sponsorship agreement with “Anaam” (Qatar Livestock Society) yesterday. The signing ceremony was coincided with the official launch ceremony of “Anaam” held yesterday at Hassad’s Headquarters.

As per the agreement, Hassad will extend financial and non-financial supports to ‘Anaam’ to conduct market study and assess the demand challenges.

Anaam will conduct workshops, and provide consultation to the livestock owners, in order to raise the production efficiency across the livestock sector. It will also build a unified database for all local livestock owners, for better coordination with various stakeholders.

Mubarak Rashid Al Sahuti, Executive Director of Business Relations, Hassad and Hamad Faleh Al Shahwani, Chairman of “Anaam” Qatar Livestock Society, signed the sponsorship agreement. Hassad’s Chief Executive Officer, Mohamed bin Badr Al Sadah and Naji Abd Rabu al Ajei, Director of the Associations & Private Institutions Department, Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor & Social Affairs, were present as well during the launch and signing ceremony.

Founded in 2018 by a ministerial decision, “Anaam” Qatar Livestock Society is a cultural association, under the Associations & Private Institutions Department at Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor & Social Affairs. “Anaam” is dedicated to support the livestock owners and the wider livestock sector in Qatar. Its main objective is to contribute in raising the sector’s production efficiency; by offering programs, supporting initiatives and conducting workshops, as well as build a communications channel between the local livestock owners and the concerned government organizations & institutions.

Mohamed bin Badr Al-Sadah, Hassad’s Chief Executive Officer said, “Supporting the country in achieving food security is always at the forefront of Hassad’s strategic objectives. It is our pleasure to sponsor “Anaam” Qatar Livestock Society, as we are keen to support the productive livestock owners, and we believe in the important role the association will play locally”.

Hamad Faleh Al Shahwani, Chairman of “Anaam” Qatar Livestock Society said, “It is our great pleasure to officially launch “Anaam” Qatar Livestock Society today, we are also honoured with Hassad’s sponsorship agreement. Being a pioneer in the food investment field, Hassad is always striving to support the productive livestock owners as well as the private sector, and this sponsorship certainly complements those efforts”.

We aim to support in raising the production efficiency of the livestock sector, by entering into joint programs with both the Halal owners and a number of institutions, to contribute in achieving food security”, Al Shahwani added.

Naji Abd Rabu Al-Ajei, Director of the Associations & Private Institutions Department, Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor & Social Affairs, said, “Anaam, Qatar Livestock Society is a new association, which was recently declared in accordance with the law of local associations and private institutions”.

Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the event, Mubarak Rashid Al Sahuti, said: “Hassad is a global company in food investing. It is very important to support this kind of society, which is committed to fix the food security issues in Qatar. They will support the farmers to create a better business model for the country’s livestock sector. Hassad will share its global expertise with the Anaam to help the entire farmers in Qatar to improve their efficiency level.

Mohammed Yaaqob Alkaabi, Board Member, Qatar Livestock Society said the partnership with Hassad will help realise Qatar’s 2030 sustainable development dream.
