Minister of Commerce & Industry H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani, met with a delegation of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), headed by H E Ridwan Hassan, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Qatar, and featuring the participation of heads of diplomatic missions of ASEAN member States.
Minister of Commerce & Industry H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani, met with a delegation of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), headed by H E Ridwan Hassan, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Qatar, and featuring the participation of heads of diplomatic missions of ASEAN member States.
During the meeting, the officials reviewed the relations between Qatar and ASEAN, in the trade, industrial and investment fields, as well as ways to enhance and develop them.
The Minister of Commerce & Industry highlighted the economic policies Qatar had put in place to support the private sector, including the incentives, legislation, and investment opportunities made available in Qatar. It is worth noting that the volume of trade exchange between Qatar and ASEAN amounted to nearly $8bn in 2020, equivalent to 10.2 percent of Qatar’s total foreign trade.
