DOHA: Seasoned rally driver Sheikh Hamad Al Thani will partner F Allouh in their Nissan Patrol as an exciting battle is expected in the third round of Qatar Manateq Baja which will be held today.
According to the list of drivers released by organisers Qatar Motor and Motorcycling Federation (QMMF), Sheikh Hamad has been classified in T1 category.
Other pairs in T1 include Qatar’s Mohammed Al Manai and Alexey Kuzmich from Russia.
In T2 category, Qatar’s Mohammed Al Meer will join Kuwait’s A Al Fares, Qatar’s Jamal Fakhro will partner compatriot S Shawared and home hope Rashid Al Mohannadi will team up with N El Enazi of Kuwait.
In T3 category, Qatar’s Nayef Al Nasr will join compatriot J Falahi, Kuwait’s Abdulaziz Al Bishayer has signed up with compatriot F Zaidan, Qatar’s Mohammed Al Attiyah will be assisted by compatriot T Al Hijazeen and Qatar’s Khalid Al Mohannadi will join Oman’s S Masoud.
“We are looking forward to this week’s round. We are very excited at this point in time,” QMMF President Abdulrahman Al Mannai said.
“We have planned a series of activities right throughout the season, like we always do. We shall give more details in the coming days,” Al Mannai said.
“It’s going to be a busy season. Next month we will have the hugely popular Manateq Qatar International Rally. That will host the big names in motor racing. We will special activities duraing that week,” QMMF President said.
“But first we turn our focus to Qatar Baja. It will be third round and we are ready to stage the event,” he said.
