Doha: Katara has slashed the rates for all water sport activities by 50 percent. Motorised activities such as boat ride, catamaran ride, water skiing and parasailing, and non-motorised activities such as sea pedal boat and kayak are now available for visitors at half the rate.
For 30 minutes of activities, the rates are reduced by 50 percent with boat ride now costing QR60 while catamaran ride is priced at QR100. Water skiing and parasailing will cost one QR75 and QR50 respectively while both the non motorised activities are priced QR25.
Katara stated this on its social media adding that activities depend on weather conditions and it is compulsory to wear a life jacket for all water sport activities. Children under 16 years must be accompanied by adults and for certain activities age restrictions are in place to ensure their safety.
Katara stated that no booking is needed for the beach activities that start from 3:30 pm to sunset after which one can be on the beach until 11 pm. "One can buy a ticket to enter the beach from Gate No 1 and Gate No. 8 does not require prior reservation and the entry for adults is allowed after showing EHTERAZ in green. There is an entrance fee of QR 10 for adults and is free for those below 18 years of age. Those making bookings for marine sports are also allowed free entry into the beach.
The beach is open daily from 3:30 pm - 11 pm, with no swimming after sunset.
