Doha, Qatar: The Thani Bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services has announced receiving two generous donations totalling QR700,000 from benefactors to support students in need through its educational social initiative, Manarat Ilm Project.

According to the foundation, the first donation of QR500,000 has been allocated to assist financially challenged university students, while the second donation of QR200,000 will support students in schools. The contributions come as part of the foundation’s ongoing efforts to enhance access to education and empower underprivileged learners.

The donations support the mission of the Manarat Ilm Project, a comprehensive educational and social initiative built on the belief that education is a fundamental right and that financial hardships should not hinder students from continuing their academic journey, particularly talented and hardworking students from low-income families.

Through the initiative, the foundation works to remove financial barriers faced by students across various educational stages. The project provides a range of support services, including payment of tuition fees, provision of educational supplies, academic assistance, remedial lessons, and technological learning devices for outstanding students. These efforts aim to ensure continuity in education, improve academic performance, and promote equal educational opportunities.

Dr. Yahya Al Nuaimi, Director of the Manarat Ilm Project, said the generous contributions reflect a deep humanitarian awareness of the importance of investing in education as a key pathway to building individuals and strengthening societies.

He noted that supporting students in need, whether in schools or universities—goes beyond addressing immediate financial needs, contributing instead to building a more stable and equitable future while giving students confidence that their ambitions are supported.

Dr. Al Nuaimi added that the Manarat Ilm Project, implemented under the supervision of the Thani Bin Abdullah Humanitarian Foundation, ensures donations are directed through clear mechanisms and precise criteria to guarantee assistance reaches those most deserving. The project also monitors students’ academic progress and measures improvements in their performance to ensure sustainable educational impact.

He emphasised that the foundation places education among its top priorities, viewing it as a cornerstone of sustainable development. Its educational initiatives aim to empower students, reduce school dropout rates, and help build a generation capable of contributing effectively to the advancement of society.

The Manarat Ilm Project represents a model of institutional humanitarian work that combines generosity, strategic planning, and impact measurement, reflecting an effective partnership between the foundation and charitable donors to support education and inspire hope among students and their families.

The initiative aims to directly support hundreds of male and female students, while also creating a broader positive impact on their families and educational environments.
