DOHA: Mowasalat (Karwa) organized a special set of events to celebrate Qatar National Sport Day with the objective of raising awareness on the importance of sport and to emphasise its role for healthy lives of individuals and society to lead a healthy life.
Mowasalat (Karwa) with a workforce of 7000 which include about 6500 driver employees always makes elaborate arrangements to organize array of sports events & activities.
Karwa’s driver employees of varied nationalities and diverse culture come and participate in big numbers managing their duty hours of operation also, particularly “The 5 KM Marathon” where about more than 1000 participate. The Management is keen to encourage full participation motivating and rewarding them and stress on the importance of sports to encourage a culture of team spirit, sportsmanship and positive spirit for a healthy life, said a statement.
This year Mowasalat organized a set of sports activities and events to its staff, which were designed to enhance team spirit and fair competition.
The sports activities yesterday took place at the playgrounds of Karwa City, which the company has permanently set up for drivers to carry out recreational activities on a daily basis.
The events began with a (5) KM marathon race, marking the start of sports competitions in which all Mowasalat employees and drivers participated.
The competitions included football, basketball, volleyball, relay race and some other fun activities.
On this occasion, Khalid Nasser Al Hail, Mowasalat Managing Director & CEO, said: “The activities of Qatar National Sport Day provide an opportunity for Mowasalat staff to participate and showcase their skills in a fun and competitive atmosphere.
Mowasalat promotes sports exercise among its staff to ensure every employee stays motivated and connected, also gets a platform to exhibit their talents and skills, and derive personal enjoyment and satisfaction, competing in various sports, social and cultural events organised by the management for the employees.”
