Doha: On its weather report for the weekend, Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) has forecast misty to foggy weather conditions, at places at first, followed by hot daytime with some clouds. A chance of scattered rain, may be thundery, is also expected along with blowing dust at times.
On both days, QMD warned about low visibility at first and thundery rain with strong winds. High seas also likely on Saturday.
The minimum and maximum temperature for the next two days will vary between 23 degrees Celsius and 35 degrees Celsius, respectively.
On Twitter, QMD also issued a marine warning for thundery rain which will start on Friday until early morning of Saturday where the sea height reaches 7 ft during thunderstorms gusting to 22 KT.
In the same report, QMD said: "Winds expected to shift to northwesterly from beginning of Saturday until Sunday, where the wind speed ranges between 18-25 KT and sea height exceeds 8 ft at places at times, as the warning continues until Sunday."
"It is expected that the relative humidity will continue to rise forming mist/fog at places late night until tomorrow morning," QMD added.
Due to the forecasted weather conditions, QMD urged all residents and citizens to be careful and avoid all marine activities during this period.
The wind, on Friday, is expected to blow southeasterly to southwesterly at 10-20 KT gusting to 25 KT at times during thundery rain. On Saturday, the wind will mainly blow northwesterly at 10 - 20 KT gusting to 25 KT at times.
On Friday, sea heights will vary between 2-4 ft inshore and 3-5 ft offshore rising to 7 ft at times with thundery rain. On Saturday, sea heights will vary between 1-3 ft inshore and 2-4 ft rising to 5ft at times offshore.
Visibility on both days will mainly vary between 3-8 kilometres/ 2 kilometres or less at places.
