Qatar Chamber has participated in a joint meeting between Arab and Turkish chambers, as well as the board of directors’ meeting of the Arab-Turkish Chamber of Commerce which were held in Antalya.

The meetings’ objective is to review ways of promote and develop Turkish-Arab economic and trade relations.

QC’s Second Vice Chairman Rashid bib Hamad Al Athba And QC Board Member attended the meetings.

The meeting was presided over by the President of the Union of Turkish Chambers and Commodity Exchanges Rifat Hisarcikli Oglu in the attendance of a number of Arab chambers officials and representatives.

In press statement, Rashid Al Athba said that the two meetings focused on means of enhancing economic and trade cooperation relations between Arab countries and Turkey, noting that it stressed also the importance of promoting ties between both sides in trade, industry and investment sectors.

He also noted that trade between Arab countries and Turkey is still below aspiration despite the huge potentials each side enjoy.

“Their trade volume reaches $50bn annually. This figure is possible to increase by strengthening cooperation between the private sector and forging mutual investments,” he added.

Al Athba said that Qatar-Turkey trade grew by 85 percent from $1.3bn in 2017 to $2.4bn in 2018.

This reflects the robust trade and economic bilateral relations, he added.
