Doha: The Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs stated that 44 companies violated the decision about banning work in open places during the summer.

The erring companies were monitored and caught between the period from June 4 to June 9 and legal measures have been taken against them for violating the provision of the decision.

The violators are companies working in the contracting, building maintenance, gardens, decoration sectors in Al Muntazah, Madinat Khalifa, Al Wakra and Al Wukair, Al Sailiya, Al Kharaitiyat, Al Rayyan Al Jadeed, Ain Khaled, Umm Salal Muhammad, Lusail, Al Dafna, Muraikh and Al Mashaf.

The total number of companies that have violated the decision since the beginning of the period of prohibition of work in open places is 98 companies.

The Ministry represented by the Labor Inspection Department conducted intensive inspection campaigns in order to ensure that companies comply with Ministerial Decision No. 17 of 2021, regarding the necessary precautions to protect workers from heat stress in open work sites during summer.

The decision determines the working hours for work performed under the sun or in open workplaces and in places other than shaded and ventilated workplaces, during the period from June 1 to September 15 of each year, so that work should not be carried out from 10am to 3:30pm.

People can report about the violations through the hotline 16008 of the Ministry or by accessing the unified complaint platform at https://acmsidentity.adlsa.gov.qa/ar.
