Williams wins Qatar Open Amateur Golf Championship

The tournament is an annual fixture on the Qatar Golf Association (QGA) calendar saw 120 golfers from 27 countries competing in the three-day 54-hole stroke play event. The cut will be applied after two days of play and the successful golfers battled it out over last 18 holes for the top honours. This is the fifth time Williams has won the trophy. The Englishman will get a chance to play in the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters 2014. The Commercial Bank Qatar Masters 2014 will be held from January 22 to 25 at DGC and will be contested by the best professionals on the European PGA Tour. Chris Wood of England won last year’s Commercial Bank Qatar Masters. Qatar Armed Forces was the main sponsor of the event.  Qatar Olympic Committee, InterContinental Doha Hotel, Al Muftah Rent-A-Car and Doha Golf Club were the other sponsors.PICTURE BY: IBRAHIM KUTTY
